Short Story – I am naughty when dead

The prompt: “Waking up from the dead and watching how life unfolded without you.. Is your lover remarried? Is your mother over your loss and likewise. #BackFromTheDead

I am lying on the floor.  I am covered with dozens of fresh flower garlands. I float above my body to take a quick peep. I am sleeping so peacefully. I look better when dead. People are sitting around me. Some are sad, some just appear to be sad. I can see my husband is sitting near me, his eyes red and puffy from crying. I reach out to him to console him. But he can’t feel my touch.

Then I look around and see her sitting with a sad look on her face. What a phoney she is! I knew she must be happy now that I am dead. We have never gotten along well. She is a vile woman. Evil personified. She has given me many a tough times. I cannot forget that, nor forgive her.

Once the men have left with my body to the cremation ground, I stay put. I According to what I have heard, a soul doesn’t leave for the heaven for twelve days after the death.

Wow, what an opportunity to avenge the wrongs! The sadist in me is happy at the turn of events.

I go to her and blow in her ears. She immediately covers her ears.

Ha ha, I know I am going to enjoy this.
